Parking is one of the most visible ways we can show our care for our neighbours: choosing to not use our cars as much as possible, and always parking very thoughtfully.

We request all volunteers to share lifts to Keswick where possible as there is a limited amount of parking available across the town.

There is NO parking available on the Pencil Factory site.

On the Rawnsley Site, the Convention car parks are all allocated for specific uses:

  • Bottom car park for security and conventioners queuing;
  • Middle car park has marked bays strictly for blue badge holders only, and some spaces for emergency vehicles and staff;
  • Top car park for security staff, contractors, speakers, musicians and other roles. Each Team will be allocated some parking passes for the Top car park and team leaders will distribute as needed.

Accommodation Parking

Some team parking is located at our Skiddaw Street Convention Centre. This is limited to volunteers and some other specific allocations – however this is on a first come first served basis. To request a permit, please see below.

Please note: A number of local residents and businesses have annual permits, and so the spaces are limited.

The rear car park of Brackenrigg Drive is NOT available for use by volunteers, as this is required for other purposes related to the Convention.

To request a Parking Permit for Skiddaw Street, email facilities@keswickministries.org with your name, mobile phone number, accommodation details in the Skiddaw Street Centre, and car registration, make and model. If approved we’ll email back, and ensure that these are printed and available when you arrive at your accommodation. These permits will not work anywhere else in town, and it would be very helpful if you did not display them on your dashboard when your vehicle is away from Skiddaw Street.

Some parking is available at Keswick School and Castlerigg Manor for volunteers staying at those locations
